@misscowgirl17 guess I didn't think about that, sounds like you've been feeding cattle for a while...how much waste is there if you feed on the ground?
-
@misscowgirl17 I can totally understand not wanting to hit the cows or the post . I wouldn't feel safe driving down the road & turning with a loader up the high on a tractor cause they can get tipsy even empty plus if I had too move over quick .

Nice video of feeding out on pastures...one question, is there any reason you pile up the feed instead of just windrowing it out?

@crazypete420 I have tried feeding it in windrows before. The cows line up shoulder to shoulder to eat it. I find that not all the cows get a place to eat and the younger ones get pushed out. If I make piles it gives the cows more room to mingle around and find the piles they want to eat at. The calves also tend to group around a few piles and not get pushed out by the bigger ones.
Thanks for watching my video!

Why do you drive around with the loader up that high on the mixer tractor ?

@MUDDVSDAVE There are a couple reasons. It's easier to drive through a gate with it up so I don't have to worry about catching a gate post since I have to turn when going through the gate to get on the road. Also I don't want a cow to knock into a corner of the bucket and get injured if it was down. I'd rather one bump into the side of the tire. That is why I leave it up when I don't need to use it.
