This is played on R-Types for the Playstation. I was playing on Easy and that was pretty challenging. I could not tell the difference between Easy and Normal, as I've been playing on Normal up till now.

Areas of note:
-the enemies don't mess around do they? More unblockable shots, more bullets, and trickier terrain.
-the music is much more awesome than its predecessor (in my opinion).
-the graphics are much improved too. The colors seem richer, and there's more stuff in the background.

  • Yes, this is the arcade version of R-Type II for R-Types on the Playstation.

  • You know what, everybody wants a flaying car or a jet pack, or their own private plane. I would want an R9 as my craft. An interdimensional craft with a nuclear fusion reactor so it keeps going for a long time. No refueling. Plus with a FORCE, its practically invulnerable, made of pure energy, and it looks totally awesome.

  • "Practically invulnerable"

Hope it comes with camera so you can see behind you, or one little pellet will brush your ship and:

    *boom*

  • @scorpionexo400 R-Type 2 was never released on the SNES. Super R-Type is sort of based on R-Type 2 with some of the same stages (but overall crappier).

  • @matrixandraia I always thought Sega should have ported this to the Genesis. The music could have worked perfect, there would be no slowdown as the Genesis has a faster CPU than the SNES. Sega did a fine job with R-Type on the Master System, I think R-Type II would be a direct port, and be perfect. Wouldn't you agree?

  • i know but then wheres number 2 for snes r type? i have 1 and 3 for snes but i guess theres no 2nd

  • its called super r type on the snes

  • How much would the insurance cost on an R9?

  • with elements borrowed from both R-type 1 and 2

  • The Super Nintendo version is a different game.
