  • Do I need to set the twist of my singles in hot water before plying them? Or can I immediately ply after spinning, and then set them together?

  • @KombuchaDiva You want to ply them before you set the twist, then set the twist together :)

  • Megan,

Thanks again. You have de-mystified the entire spinning process for me....I love it!

  • Wow, your hair has changed so much :) I love the short red. Your videos are great, I'm excited to begin spinning my own yarn.

  • Your videos are excellent for a beginner (me) You have made it look so effortless so I am now going to buy my 1st drop spindle!

    Thank you

  • I had forgotten how to ply singles together and your video really helped me remember. Thank you for posting this.

  • I just watched your andean bracelet video - I genuinely cant see the advantage of that over this method here, which is what i use myself.

Is there a difference in how the yarn plies?

Also, would you recommend a heavier or lighter spindle to ply on or does it not really matter?

  • Hey, Megan,

Your videos are great! Thanks for posting them!

  • Hi, Megan.

First off-- love the new hair color! looks great. :)

Secondly, I wanted to thank you for helping me get interested in spinning! I've just finished my first skeins of yarn (the first skein I actually finished was what a cousin made one afternoon that I showed her how to spin (what an awesome skein she made!)).

Have you tried Andean plying? It's pretty fun.

  • Thanks, Megan. I love your videos.
