Antarctica expeditions -- Trusty zodiacs and their expedition drivers helped delicately return the campers back to their ship, the Orlova. The icefield was beautiful. Adventure Lifers, Beth and Renee, spent the night camping on Paradise Harbor in Antarctica. When they woke - the ice had closed in the bay.

  • It's definitely one of those once in a lifetime moments. A few quick pieces of advice: 1. Empty bladder (Antarctica is a leave-no-trace sort of place of sure) 2. Sleep mask (not going to get really dark in Feb.) 3. Not-so-fancy camera (the cold will suck out the battery and you'll likely have fog issues -- I recommend sleeping with your camera) 4. Ear plugs (penguins love to squawk!!). Have an awesome Antarctica adventure! You'll love it.

  • Brrrrr!

I can't wait to visit - I'm going in February 2011. Did you enjoy camping? How miserable was it? I've booked one night of it. Thanks!
