Men's Rugby Union

Leeds Met Carnegie currently run 4 mens teams. The 1st team are playing in the BUCS premier league. We are now firmly established as one of the top 8 universities in the country playing rugby union.

In addition we have a pioneering partnership with Leeds Carnegie RUFC creating strong links with the rugby side. Many of our students represent the University as well as A team and development levels. Our students get the benefit of high performance coaching through the partnership, with Leeds Carnegie coaches supporting the University programme.

Women's Rugby Union

Leeds Met Women's Rugby finished last season Winners of the Northern Premiership, runners up of the BUCS Championships which were held at Twickenham, and Winners of the National 7s, overall a very good year for us. This season our goal is to maintain our current titles as well as adding BUCS Championship Winners and European 7s Winners to our running.

As well as training hard as a team we like to play hard off the pitch and socials are a huge part of our rugby life, we hold weekly socials and get involved in as much as we can at the University, as well as running regular fundraising events to promote Leeds Met and support our club.

This year is our first year we have entered a BUCS 2nd team into the competition which is a fantastic opportunity for us to show how much Women's Rugby has developed as a sport and more specifically at the University this is due to the constant support we have had from Leeds Met, our fantastic coaching staff and the player's positive attitudes.
