  • Hi Larry,

do you cycle the rhodiola? Is it safe to take it for a long period?

Also, where do you buy your rhodiola?

    cheers

  • @Justchillz0r .

I bought Rhodiola rosea powder, 3% rosavin, from beyondacenturyonline [DOT] com.

It is $7.35 for 50 grams (50,000 mg).

It is 500 servings of 100 mg. I am taking about 150 mg per day, so it is $7.35 for an 11 month supply.

The company is owned by a father and son, Warren and Eric.

I've bought from them for 25 years.

  • What if your power is not a concentrate? How much should be taken?

  • @cynthiaall Cynthia,

I would try the same dose the suggest to see if it helps.

    The monograph says:

    a daily dose of

100-170 mg of an extract standardized for 3.6% rosavin is suggested

180-300 mg of an extract standard- ized for 2% rosavin, or

360-600 mg Rhodiola extract standardized for 1% rosavin...

  • @larryshobbs I have been mixing a small spoonful into protein powder potion that I share with my husband. I think my fatigue problem is due to the over production of insulin. My husband gave me a bite of a cookie he was eating, and I promptly fell asleep for 5 hours.

  • @cynthiaall Cynthia,

You might be interested in watching the video clips of Joan Mathews Larson, PhD, author of "Depression-Free, Naturally" talking about hypoglycemia.

You can find them by searching for "larson hypoglycemia".

  • @Justchillz0r The monograph says,

"Rhodiola rosea has been administered for periods ranging from as little as one day (acute administration) up to four months. Until more specific information is available, a dosing regimen following the established patterns used with other plant adaptogens – with periodic intervals of abstinence – seems warranted when Rhodiola rosea is being used chronically."

I have not done any cycling, but I have not taken it long enough to try this.
