I heard this being sung at the end of Brookside's final episode, but had no idea that it was Dana or that it was written that far back.

I remember this too.. there was actually an official video clip, which showed Dana coming in from the rain and shaking her umbrella!

I know 8 different versions and arrangements of the Brookside theme, but I never knew it had words!! Kind of weird, but I actually saved it as am MP3 on my hard drive!!

I think Dana sang this lovely, but like I said in an earlier post, she did an even better version of it for a programme called Ladybirds, wish I had kept it on video now.

She also performed this song on a programme called 'Ladybirds' where she sang it in an antique shop setting as I remember, would be nice to see this again, the song was proposed for a single release, but got pulled for some unknown reason?

Presumably they realised it sounded a bit too naff. I never knew about this either! I loved Brookside. This song would have harmed Brookie's image as the "real" soap- OK for Anita Dobson and Eastenders but this just took it to a realm of cheese it thankfully never went again! The best version of the theme was the one from the ninties- the one with the beats and drums to the fore- this was dreary and more like Corrie Street!

If I remember right, the version she did for 'Ladybirds' programme was the proposed single studio version, which was a bit more beefy in arrangement. Be nice if someone could post? Whilst I think the lyrics are ok, maybe had a cast member sung it, it may have got a release and charted?
