Saranacs impressive, four-story brew house and rare giant copper brew kettles dating from post-WWII are the backdrop for another entertaining tasting video by Nick and Fred Matt. This time around the pair review beers from the What Ales You? 12-pack, giving us their take on Saranac Irish Red Ale, Saranacs flagship Pale Ale, Saranac Amber Ale, Saranac India Pale Ale, Saranac Brown Ale, and the distinctive Saranac Irish Stout. Get your own 12-pack (or consider one as a gift for a friend who is ailing), taste along with Nick and Fred, and let us know what you think! Cheers! (Please only forward this video to people over 21.)

  • i just went for the brew tour last week. i love how you poured the beer with such a large head. i do the same thing with my beers, and its the item i catch the most flack for, so the fact that brew experts such as yourself did the same, shows i ain't crazy. I was very happy to try utica club for the first time at the 1888 tavern....

  • @jjrudy41 Good to know you pour your beer similarly. It's a technique that's been passed down over the years in the Matt's family. We know it's not for everyone, but we sure do like it. Thanks for visiting the Brewery, glad you enjoyed yourself. Cheers!

  • Hey Fred, would you like some beer with your head?

Never had the Amber Ale or the Irish Stout, so I'll definitely want to try those.

I like the Brown Ale, Pale Ale and the IPA, thought the Irish Red was okay. I liked the "Big Moose Ale" better than the regular pale ale!

  • @Chad9976 Check out the new one's, Chad. We're pretty sure you won't be disappointed. As always, we appreciate your loyalty! Cheers!

  • Thanks for all the great beer. I just took the brew tour last week. I visit Utica about 3 to 4 time a year when we visit my wife's grandmother. I always bring home a case of UC when I leave, I just wish I could get it here in Virginia Beach. It's UC for me!

  • you don't flatten the beer.

  • @jjrudy41 then what's the point of pouring so much head in the first place if it just turns to beer anyway?

  • if you wait, that head turns to beer.

  • @jjrudy41 I prefer my beer to have head rather than my head to have beer underneath it. LOL

  • I wish there was a way for me to get this stuff around Texas. At least to places like the flying Saucer and the Yardhouse. Places that sell a wide variety of beer
