  • From Tallinn?

  • @Kostja08a Most of the time, yes :)

  • what is the thickness of the handle?

  • @mrchimmychonga That's hard to say, I don't think I even measured it. But I guess it was around 1-1.5cm.

  • is the rear bolster made of two seperate sheets and if so how was it possible to secure them to each other after you shaped them?

  • @mrchimmychonga Silver soldering.

  • NOT a fan of the welding aspects, but I must say the final product looked very impressive.

There is absolutely nothing wrong or weak about a well made stick-tang. Notice that billhooks, puukos, machetes, leukus, parangs and many swords are stick-tangs and they've been holding up fine for centuries longer than the often ridiculous 'survival' blades I see espoused as requiring full tangs. Furthermore a stick-tang knife is better in the cold, and has a different balance than a full-tang.

  • So awesome. Thanks for showing, and don't listen to anyone who doesn't know your craft.

  • The finished product is certainly beautiful

  • That type of tang is called a 'rat tail tang' and they are known for breaking at the weld and the thread at the end become loose over time. They're not very good knives, sorry, but they're not.

  • you sound hawt

  • nice looking knife but thats all, I wouldnt use it and proll break at the first sign of hard use or any use, best keep it as a letter opener.

  • best complete knife making video ive ever seen !!!
