Spencer just started to learn this piece in Spring of 2008 when a beautiful little Alexa Middelaer was killed by a drunk driver. He was devastated, and wanted to play it at the funeral, and it was tough to convince him that the piece was not "mature enough" yet to be played in public.
After a long talk he decided that he will work on it "really hard" so he can play it for Alexa's family - and he did.
We decided to select this version from 2009 to dedicate it to Alexa's memory.
Our hearts go to the wonderful and kind members of the Middelaer Family and to all families who lost the loved ones to drunk drivers.
Thanks for listening and watching. Spencer & Zezulka Family
@Lalitamusic Alexa's mom is working extremely hard to change our laws, and Spencer and us just did our little part. Spencer donated all the proceeds to the "Alexa's Bus, which will be equipped with the most modern mobile lab to perform the initial investigations right at the scene of accidents.

@Lalitamusic Thanks Lalita - probably the toughest part of everything is to see daily her brother's and mom's suffering, while feeling the exasperation of "relaxed" laws that do not deal with drunken drivers firmly enough.

My dear Spencer, that was a very moving clip and you played that beautiful Nocturne with warranted passion. I feel so angry that some fool with not an ounce of inteligence to bless him/herself with took that beautiful child's life away from her and her family and all of those, like you own family who were associated with her.

Thanks very much - and her little brother is Spencer's classmate... Makes it really tough to handle. Bob, Spencer & mom
