An informative video thank you. Much more should be taught about the heptarchy of Anglo-Saxon and Jutish kingdoms that then formed England by 1015 (Mercia, Northumbria, Kent, Wessex, Sussex, Essex and East Anglia). The Cornwealas as the Kernewek (Cornish) were known to the Saxons were not and have never legally or constitutionally been part of the English Crown. So that part is wrong. Also the name Cornwall derives from Cornu and King Corineus of Troy not Cornovii. Still Well Done with the vid.

Modern Engish- I can stick my little finger up my nose and pluck snot out. Modern Danish- Jeg(yi) kan stikke min lille finger op min naese og plukke snot ud. so what does that say about where the English stem from? Jutland, angeln, saxony, denmark. norwegians were in Scotland.

I think too many folk are hung up on genetics rather than language, culture, folklore et cetera. That is my problem with Celticists they define the English as "Celtic" based on a theory that most English have ancestors that are Pre-Indo-European (which of course doesn't make sense as Celtic culture is Indo-European)...the theory is being pretty much disproven now as r1b is now thought to have entered with the Europeans, as ancient Basques didn't feature that marker.

I think that most English are descended from Germanic (AKA from Germany and Southern Scandinavia) migrants, and I dislike those who try to claim the English are "racially pure" Britons...however I find culture more important than DNA (DNA research is a new science anyway) and if it is proven that English (as a whole) are genetically the same as Nigerians it would not matter as they would still be English. Also many immigrants have added to the genepool since the "Adventus Saxonem" anyway.
Yeah but the make up of the English is Germanic/Scandinavian, Our king Harold was part Danish but still he considered himself English. With or without the thousand years you are English in my eyes anyway!
