Dear Blank: A Jonas Brothers Love Story Chapter 28

Liz's POV

"Lovebug...Are you turning into a rabbit?" Joe asked, leaning towards me. We were on the school roof eating lunch. I looked over the roof and saw everyone walking around below.
"Uh..no?" I replied, stuffing another fork full of salad into my mouth.
"Then why have you been eating salads for like the last week?"
"I dunno...the apple and cheese taste nummy." I shrugged and ate more.
He laughed and took a bite out of his sandwich.
"Ohh!! I forgot something!!" I started throwing the salad container into my lunch bag.
"What did you forget?" Joe asked, finishing off his sandwich.
"My books in the theatre, can we go get them?" I asked Joe.
He started getting up, "Sure, why not."
"Okay." We walked down the stairs that were leading to the theatre room. I opened the doors and stepped in.
"Woahh! It's so dark!!" I whispered to Joe. I walked over to where I was last sitting.
"Don't trip!" I heard Joe whisper to me.
"Mhm...Love you too," I searched under the seats for a little. Hmm... where is it.... Ha! Found it!
"Found it!!" I whispered to Joe. I quickly ran back to him. "Why are we whispering anyways?" I asked him, still whispering.
"I dunno... You started." He shrugged. I looked around the theatre and saw a little blob of curly hair.
"Who's that?" I asked Joe, pointing to the blob.
"Uh..." Joe leaned over a little, "Nick?"
"Why would he be here?" I asked tilting my head. Then it hit me! This was like, the place he always hung out with Megs... Sorta like the roof for Joe and I. Aweh... I feel so bad for him! It must be killing him... He and Megs were so close... And to have her just disappear... He must be feeling horrible! It breaks my heart to see him like this!
"What do you think?" Joe asked sarcastically.
"Oh, I just got it." I whispered back, "He looks so sad..." We both silently left the theatre, leaving him alone. If we talked to him, I bet I would say the wrong thing, I don't wanna take chances with that.
"Yeah... Only if there was something we could do..." Joe said.
"Wait... Do you think he would ever turn back into the old Nick?" I asked.
Joe stayed silent for a little bit. "I don't exactly know... Megs wasn't with him the first time."
"What about this time?"
"I don't know..."
