Though Japan is a hightech country and have so many better cell phone and stuff than we do, japanese ppl always respect American tecnologies. I LOVE IT!! They are VERY polite too!!!

Black is the worst iPhone color, by the way. I love the smudges on the backing of yours. :)

hey you tube my brother is going tomorrow to japan and he wants to buy iphone please please please tell me how much the iphone costs in japan?

All the foreigners here I know have an iPhone. And it's funny how the Japanese consumer doesn't want to buy one because its "too complex" or doesn't have 1-Seg and "emoji" (both of which were remedied in updates), but rush out and buy DoCoMo handsets which virtually do the same thing. Another example of consumer jingoism in Japan.

i dont want to get the phone bill high;
so is there a way?
Maybe you could help me out. I am about to be stationed (1 September) at Yokota AFB in Tokyo, Japan. I am going to serve a 3 year tour there. Will I be able to get the iPhone 3g in Japan or will they say no since I am not a resident. I will have military orders supporting that I will be there for 3 years so I will be able to fulfill the contract. Thanks.

Sorry, I do not know. They may or may not have special provisions for military. The president and main stockholder of their company is not Japanese by the way. In most Japanese cell companies you have to have a stamp of your name to get a phone, but Softbank allows use of just a signature. You may get lucky. It would seem to me that you are a resident. U.S. cell phones do not work here, so you have to get a cell phone here. As such, military people do have phones here. I think you are ok

i have some questions that may help me decide wether i should get it or not. first, are you able to send text messages to other phone companies, for example if i sent a msg. to the a friend using docomo but the reciever didnt have AIM or SMS on their cell, just regular text msging would that work? secondly, do you have to have a wirless connection around you to go on safari, youtube, and sms or aim. third, can you mail to a phone by using email? thanks PLZZZ reply or send me a msg on my hompage.

It does not do MMS. It does normal email, SMS and with apps from the app store, it does AIM. No MMS at this point though. I can see it coming out in a future update possibly. You do not have to have Wireless to get on the internet. I can surf the web, get emails etc. driving in the car through the softbank 3g connection.
