Ich mag Serkan Kaya oder David McGahey um einiges Lieber als Judas, die singen und spielen besser, finde ich. Aber ich mag die Coreographie, wie die Priester nach einnander beleutet werden und ihn umkreisen.

I don't like this interpretation of Judas. In this version, his demeanor reeks of being an evil individual. I liked the thought of him as a desperate friend in the Anderson interpretation.

Carl Anderson can't be replaced but even if he could Jerome is nowhere near his ability. I once truly enjoyed him as a performer the crackling attempt at high notes, whiny tone as he unhealthily attempts to belt notes that are obviously beyond his natural ability and the riffs and runs that are sometimes just funny when they're not supposed to be...

It's really put a damper on him as a performer for me as a whole. Now every time I listen to him in any performance bothers me.

Te amazing thing about this musical is that Judas loves Christ and understands that he has to betray him in order to carry out Jesus plan and fulfill his destiny. He does not know that it is not Jesus's plan. Jesus knows it and sympathises with Judas, as he himself is unsure whether hiw father's plan is sound. On the other hand, Judas does what he has to do, and only begs that he not be 'damned for all times'. Big time tragedy.

I like Caiphas' visual design in this movie: The beard, the costume and the actor holds himself make him seem sort of mechanical, self-controlled and intimidating.

So why was the council hiding out in the darkness waiting for someone to come so they could turn on their spotlights exactly?

That's actually my only complaint about the council in this movie, is they act like the legion of doom, I mean look at the way Annas tells Judas to get up, it always looks like he's threatening to kill Judas's family to me. I'm being nitpicky, but I have to say I prefer the 1973 council, they were sneaky and manipulative, not outright evil (even with the giant hats)

I have to agree with you there GenesisMonk I preferred the 1973 version as well, the priest were a lot of manipulative, in this they just seem like they're trying to hard. Further more NO ONE can replace Carl Anderson as Judas.
