I used to go to the Quay Club in Newcastle upon Tyne, The Brian Auger Trinity/Band? with Julie Driscoll played there, in 1967/68, many times. They were superb, Julie Driscoll voice was to die for as was Brian Auger's Hammond playing. Saw many blues bands there inc. one with a brilliant pianist who was shortish, rather tubby, slightly balding and wore glasses. Now known as Elton John. Other, better known, groups such as John Mayall, Pink Floyd etc played at the Go-Go. Happy days indeed!

Thank God for German TV.
They seem to have commisioned ( and kept ) a fine archive of 1960s Rock performances that the BBC and ITV chose to ignore.

I was a teen in the sixties and so in love with Julie. She was the iconic face of the time and I will always love her and her music.
