@TheRocklover41 i came here with that " i done seen it all in LA mentality" too. trust me, i never imagined it was off the hook like that, until i lived it personally. SB was and is shady as hell. i left with a bad taste in my mouth and learned one very important thing. NEVER underestimate the situation of anything or anyone. that type of careless mentality can get you killed, easily.
@TheRocklover41 "you do realize that was everywhere right?"
sure do. but certain cities had more issues than others. and it wasn't merely due to gang migration, as you ignorantly imply. it was due to the nation wide crack epidemic. the gangs simply exacerbated the problem. oh and by the way, when i got here in 83' sb gangs were already fighting with los angeles gangs, it wasn't anything new. hoovers came through first, going at it with the projects and delman heights. shit was a mess.
@TheRocklover41 i was here long before the riots in 92' and sb had a huge influx of southern blacks in the 1940's, far before the watts riots. its true, many from watts came here after 65' but the original black population here was mainly from southern origin so your simply wrong on that front. sb had black "clubs", (as did many other cities), prior to the emergence of bloods in crips in southern california, so wrong again. the macon mafia family comes to mind, going all the way back to the 50's
@SuperStrive60 I witnessed violence on a daily basis, I had killings happen right outside my doorstep on more then a few occasions, to the point that I decided to move to another part of town in hopes of finding a safer neighborhood for my children. I ended up living in the Little Zion Manor. BIG MISTAKE. This area was gang infested and drive-by shootings were and everyday occurrence. It was then that I realized that most of San Bernardino was in this condition, which prompted me to leave.
@TheRocklover41 I used to live on the East side of South Central.. I moved to SB in the 80's (Im now in the San Fernando Valley ), and I can tell you one thing that's for certain. Large pockets of SB are JUST as bad as the worst parts of the East side of South Central, including Watts. I got here when the crack epidemic was at it's peak, violence and drugs were rampant everywhere. I lived off Sterling & Sunrise in "Little Africa", that area was far worse than anything I experienced in LA.
MAN I REMEMBER THIS WHEN I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL MY SENIOR YEAR THAT WAS A CRAZY
