UPnP working on my ps3 I am using a linksys wrt54g wireless-G broadband router. To do this follow these steps:
Go to http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support#
(That's for Linksys routers, if you have a different router simply google search "Upgrade router firmware YOUR ROUTER NAME")
In the box input your router's model(This can almost always be found on the bottom of your router)
On the next page click "Get downloads"
On the next page it'll ask you to input your version, which can also be found on the bottom of your router.
Now, SCROLL DOWN and you will see a link to your firmware.
Now you should direct your browser to the address of your router.
To find this address click Start, then Run,and then Type "CMD", and then in the black box type ipconfig, the Default Gateway is your router's IP.

This part is different for every router version, so just look around until you find a page asking you to locate your firmware update file, this is the page you need, for me, this page was located in "Administration". Browse for the firmware upgrade you downloaded before, and click Okay.
Now, LEAVE THE ROUTER ALONE, i'd advise to just not do anything with your PC/Router while this update is happening, because if the update fails for any reason, your router could break.
Once this is done, go and test it out, your router(Should) now have UPnP working!

  • i'm using aztech wl830rt4... i've enable the Upnp thing in the router... but it's still not available on my ps3... why?

  • Upgrading the firmware is your best bet.

  • my upnp works, i have a belkin, and there was a setting in the router...

  • Yeah but on WRT54G it has problems using UPNP on the earlier firmware.

  • If you have a wrt54g with your Ps3 and have trouble just get rid of it on ebay and get a wrt54gl. I wrestled with the wrt54g for months and it would never work properly. wrt54gl works right out of the box.

  • I love my WRT54G <3
