PLEAS READ

A long time ago I saw a preview for a new show on Nickelodeon called, "Avatar: The Last Airbender." I became so enamored by that preview that I tuned in and watched the premiere of the show. Since then I have been a life long fan of the series and watched the show from it's beginning to it's untimely ending. Today, I still consider myself a fan of the series.

After the show ended I started noticing advertisements for a new James Cameron movie called, "Avatar". At first I thought James Cameron was going to be making a movie of the series, which got me really excited, but alas it was not a movie adaptation of the series. Though upset by this I was still an avid James Cameron fan. So, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see what he had created. When Avatar came out I had to check it out.

Now, at first I didn't notice any connection to the two stories. However, when Avatar premiered on TV I started noticing that the two ideas shared more than just a title. In fact, I'm now willing to make the argument that the stories and characters of Avatar and Avatar the last Airbender are one and the same.

I found all the similarities and made this video. Hope you enjoy it, tell me what you think, and don't be afraid to add anything.

  • What if there was a Crossover Between the Two Avatars?

  • @gforrestersmith That would be cool.

  • dude you're picking at straws. None of these similarities are siginificant enough to qualify the two storiues as being same. It's like saying every day is the same b/c there is a morining and night.

  • @Mysterey101 Though i understand what you mean, I beg to differ. There are dozens of qualities that these two share that make them the same. The characters are very similar to each other, the basic story is the same, and most of the technical stuff is almost exactly alike. However, you do bring up an interesting argument. How are these similarities not significant enough?

  • @trainboy555 I know. It's too coincidental to be coincidence.

  • wow I never would have expected this dang you really put some thought into this I did notice Sokka Issues with Aang and Vivie Fince issues with Jake that was a simalrity I njotice but I never would have guess the rest.

also I wonder why they never showed Ozai face until Season 3?

  • @Velgamidragon Same with me.

  • @Scoonertuna And what I find equally hilarious is that, when I saw there was a trailer for Cameron's Avatar, I thought it was going to be like for the live-action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender because I think I'd heard there was one being made. Well, once I watched the trailer, that idea changed dramatically.

  • @Scoonertuna also the reason he rethought his motives and petrayed Ozai after finding out Ozai was going to destroy the Earth King dome was because Zuko knew innocent people living in the Earthkingdome like Song Lee Jet Jin and the man who own the tea shop he and his Uncle work at that waht zuko ment when he said to his Father banishing me was the best thing you did for my life it put me on the right path.
