I think the Fortin 800 is an awesome sounding amp. Someone asked if you can get a similar tone to the Fortin 800 by using a pedal infront of an unmodded amp. Here's my attempt.

It's not too far away, obviously my crap playing and the dodgy camera don't help, it's not as boomy in person but you can tell the difference between a pedal and the all-tube Fortin!

  • wow you got the same sound as the moded one, thx for making this video, may I ask what gear and settings you used?

  • It's a gibson flying v into a guv'nor pedal -> JCM 2204. The cab has Celestion 65 speakers. The amp eq was all 12 oclock apart from a slide mid scoop.

  • Sounds awesome. any special settings you have set up?

  • No, just a guvnor pedal infront, and a slight mid scoop on the amp.

  • It's an old red striped guvnor. The amp gain was on 10 and the eq's all straight up apart from a slight mid scoop.
