@trha2222 you are talking to an og geek, who used to pray for rain days in middle school, cuz the av teacher had an in with rodenberry and would play the outtakes from the show in his room.

pilot wasnt a fail, but the execs thought it was too intellectual. and they thought the audience wasnt ready for a female first officer. the suits are always wrong

the uncut pilot is brilliant...which is why tng's cap is based on pike.

@brabon1 A lot of people don't realize this but Star Trek was actually a failed pilot show that was not picked up but the executives ordered a new pilot episode that turned out to be the show we now know as Star Trek.
