Mick Jagger oil painting. (Some people ask how long my stuff takes to do...it took 1/2 hour to do the sketch, and a little over an hour for the painting.) If you're interested, you can purchase the original at www.anthonypadula.com. Thanks for watching. Tony

  • I used to draw Mick and Keith while listening to Sticky Fingers and Exile On Main Street instead of doing my homework. Ma used to ask, "How in the hell can you concentrate on your maths homework with that music blaring?" Bless her hey (wink). Nice work, you captured him well.

  • Good story! Thanks for sharing... :) Have to listen to mum!

  • Absolutley excellent !!!!

  • Thank you, ryou5338s.

  • This painting is fantastic. I really like the way you captured the emotion in his eyes. Bravo....

  • Sorry for the really late reply, but thank you.

  • It's interesting how the creation of this painting and the structure of this song are similar- from the intro/charcoal sketch, to the main part of the song/the darker values that establish the form, to the outro/highlights and refinements...

Music and art follow similar creative processes.

    Nice painting, btw..

  • Amazing..have seen this before, but, I never get tired of it!

I'm an artist who happens to be OBSESSED with Mick!

AND..Moonlight Mile is my favorite song. So, this was amazing for me to watch!

    Nice job!

Mick is a beautiful subject to paint! Good choice!

  • It was just an experiment. I typically paint from dark to light now.

    Thanks for the note,

    Tony

  • Just curious, what made you work from light to dark? Typically people paint from dark to light. Great peice none the less, I'm trying to get more into rock music just to expand my musical horizons.
