Hindu people in India consider Cow as God since it is giving its milk to nourish the young baby to aged ailing people. The cow and her sacred gifts milk and ghee in particular essential elements in Hindu worship, penance and rites of passage. In India, more than 3,000 institutions called Gaushalas, maintained by charitable trusts, care for old and infirm cows. And while many Hindus are not vegetarians, most respect the still widely held code of abstaining from eating beef. The cow is so generous, taking nothing but water, grass and grain. It gives and gives and gives of its milk, to the humanity and is standing as the symbol of Mother of all people irrespective of caste and creed. As a faithful human being and to show our grateful, we must all take an oath to protect the Cow Slaughter.

I am a vegetarian and an animal lover. But as a secular citizen we hindus have no right to deem the death of one animal as agreeable and the other as sin. Religion is a bane. People must be left to make the choice on whether they choose to eat meat or not.
