wow molly was being rude in some parts towards mrs.gillford alot of parts.I know she's 9 and all but she shouldn't have been that rude. Her mum should've tought her some manners.

i gotta remember im on 10:05
I saw this and cried! Its heartbreaking, i feel her pain in her heart.

@Starwberrupowar Well she learns all that by the end of the book. =)

Actually Molly, it isn't horrible!! Your dad is being brave and signing up to help. You should be proud of him not begging him not to go!!!!
-
although molly should be mad at her dad leaving, she should just suck it up and eat the food and deal with her mom working.

@pinkygirl349 i can't see how shes selfish. she actually knows the horror of the war. like her brother who wants to sign up, he thinks its fun and america's gonna win and all. i'd be just like molly if my dad went to another country and could be killed

Swell was way overused, its really annoying me. Molly is nine, give her a break and think about how you would feel in her position, and I think her character is suppose to portray a young girl trying to understand her contribution to the war efforts. For a nine year old, that would be a hard concept to grasp especially when she grew up in such a safe and healthy place.

Lets think about this practically here....Yes Molly started out being selfish, but she is NINE years old. How many nine year olds do we know NOW that are just that selfish? And she grows and changes throughout the movie.....thats what makes the film a good one.
