  • Great Video very usefull love to see some more of your knifeigami

  • Thanks! I ahve been working on some but don't have them complete yet.

  • You can also neutralize sulfamic acid with baking soda when you need to dispose of it. The liquid solution decomposes into ammonium bisulfate by itself, which is kind of nasty stuff even diluted.

  • i have to try that next time . Thanks

  • So wait, you can patina the stainless stolen? :)

  • Yes you can...or not. I was running low on time and not thinking as hard as I should have. Ugh

  • Muratic acid also works very well, let blade soak for 10 minutes, then heat to 200 degrees and dip in apple cider vinegar.

  • Amonia to neutralize acid....

  • real quick, wouldn't it have been safer to neutralize the acid? Anyway, nice vid! I have to do this on my CRKT Mirage now!! Thank you!

  • Very nice video and a good idea. 5 stars! Thanks!

  • Thanks for the tip on adding a patina, gotta try that sometime. One thing to remember about safety... !!!ALWAYS ADD ACID TO WATER!!!, not the other way around!

  • @retusyllib Thank you. I do not have Walmart in the country where I live, so I am not sure if I can get TarnX. However, thank you for the heads up. I will keep it in mind!

  • @knivesfishwild She made a great video and very informative. a bottle of TarnX from Walmart will do the exact same thing. It also says on the outside of bottle "Not for use on Stainless Steel" I saw my Grandmother completely stain a stainless steel tray about 6 years ago while polishing her silverware on the front porch. I gave my Victorinox Soldier pocket knife a full patina the next day. It really does a great job.

  • 6 Stars for this video. I am currently doing a patina on carbon steel. But am looking for ideas to force a patina on my stainless blades as well. Came across this video, and now I know it is possible! I will cook up some method of my own, because I do not think that tub-cleaner is readily available in my area. Anyhow, thumbs up!!

  • A thought: would soldering flux work? It's acidic too I believe, and might be a little cheaper than the sulphamic acid. It's already in paste form as well.

  • Nicely done!
