erm this is not quit right... the 8 cores are not actually core they are moduls. 2 moduls are 1 core is somewhat like hardware multi threading.. so the 8 modul cpu is actually a 4 core cpu look at the die shots available since a few weeks and the official amd papers

Bulldozer Modules will not support HyperThreading, that is Intel tech, AMD has said they wouldn't even want to implement such tech. Bulldozer has been in design, from the ground up, since 2005, hence removing all the redundancies which have held back x86 multi-core Cpu's. These Bulldozer chips will be amazing.
Anyway the twin-core Modules will utlize a different method, which could be termed the 'Brute-Force' method. Threads will have dedicated cores, which share resources across the board

Yup sure is,new socket is AM3+ but previous AM3 AMD cpu are compatibale with the new socket type just a shame new mobo will be needed.

Im a musician and I save so much money going AMD on my recording workstations its insane and the speed I get is more than what I need for my studio applications. My dragon is pwning all multiplae tracks recording simultanuesly and it never goes over 45% usage....amazing

@Mr0ro that good to hear i switched to the green side a good year a ago and haven't looked back built my new computer and going with amd i saved like 100 bucks on my processor lol good deal.
