"DIVES in Misericordia" è la chiesa progettata dall'architetto RICHARD MEIER e costruita nel quartiere Tor Tre Teste a Roma (41°52'56.61"N - 12°35'8.63"E). Il progetto di Meier sintetizza in modo semplice ma ardito le tre funzioni di "luogo di accoglienza, luogo di convocazione e luogo di Chiesa".
Appena appoggiate al suolo, fortemente intagliate al loro interno, totalmente realizzate in cemento armato pigmentato (Bianco TX Millenium - http://www.italcementigroup.com/NR/rdonlyres/54F72220-64F1-48A5-A354-B8BF9A61... ), le "VELE" sembrano allargarsi più che sovrapporsi nel tentativo di creare un centro inesistente nell'area e di definire uno spazio racchiuso ma comunque filtrato evitando trasparenze che vengono fatte confluire sulla copertura, questa si vetrata ed effettivamente inesistente. Contrapposizione tra curva e linea retta. Qui la ricerca è finalizzata a fondere in un'unica situazione scultorea la sensualità delle grandi vele alla rigidità sia pure relativa delle aree non strettamente liturgiche.
L'uso del calcestruzzo bianco, le superfici vetrate, le coperture di cristallo e la luminosità diffusa degli interni trasformano "Dives in Misericordia" in una sorgente di "luce e verità".

"Dives in Misericordia" is the church planned by the architect RICHARD MEIER and built in the district Tor TreTeste to Rome (41°52'56.61"N - 12°35'8.63"E). The project synthesizes in simple way but dared the three functions of "place of reception, place of convocation and place of Church."

Wonderful study. I truly appreciate your coverage of the North side of the building. It's difficult to find any visuals for this side . . . plenty of visuals of the East , South and interior. . . now my perception of the building is complete.
