  • The riff does not start on the E note,a mistake most bass players make!! The notes are C to D to B to D,,,,,rest is easy..

  • @bassmantucci Yeah - I've seen this debate on Talkbass. I originally learned this line off a keyboard player at a rehearsal and what I taught is based on what he taught me. (And usually keyboard players have the best ears in the band! Maybe not in this case....) Been meaning to check this out for a while and film a correction if needed!

  • Thaank you....from Argentina..... abrazooo

  • To how to playbass.com,,,,actually your keyboard player was right ,its like a harmony note,he starts with the E note and you on the c note.very strange but effective !!!!

  • Good vid, but I would take what people are saying as constructive criticism. You aren't in the groove. Close, but not there. Much of it has to do with how you are picking each note. The 5 note run should be mostly hammered. First note is open, second on 5, third on 7. 5 and 7 should be hammered. Fourth note can be picked, better if hammered, 5th note should be hammered. It removes the separation between notes so the run is smooth and the timing is better. (See next comment for rest...)

  • By the way, keep up the good work. I appreciate all of your posts and videos. Lots of help to me. Hats off to you and your efforts to help the musicians of today.

  • Hi, just a few pointers on this one, I noticed at the end of the chorus, on the riff...Lay down the boogie.....It actually starts with a different note than you specify. Yours sounds good, but the original is a harmony to the melody line. It actually starts on D string 10th fret then it goes to G string 7th fret and then alternates from that string to the D string 9th fret and completes the riff as you mentioned. Listen the original, I am sure you will agree.Hope this helps you, my friend! :)
