An old tree sits on a mound in an Ohio farm field. The filming of tree is organized around its elements: water, earth, root ends, roots, trunk, limbs, branches, leaves and the sun. The mathematical editing scheme, if graphed, looks like a tree. The resulting film, though analytic in its approach, expresses an intuitive feeling about nature.
