"Whosoever believeth" means "the one believing" in both Greek and English. It is in the present tense. It follows that John 3:16 teaches the assurance and eternal security of the BELIEVER, not the promise of eternal salvation to all of humanity on the condition of faith. This is the simple reality of the grammar involved, despite the manifold ways that this passage has been employed as support for the well-meant offer.

WONDERFUL VIDEO =D I LOVE YOU, GOD

the context around the verse, you would find that the answer is right before your lying eyes - you just don't want to see it, because it conflicts with how your evil, dark hearts think God ought to be! The context is "the world of believers" (whether they are Jews or Gentiles). Those are the people God loves. Those are the people for whom Jesus died. Jesus didn't come to condemn those people - He came to save them. But everyone else is already condemned, because they don't believe.
-
The so-called Christians today are far too simple-minded and lazy to look into the matter. So we'll do it for you: the word translated "world" in John 3:16 is the Greek word "kosmos." The word never means "every individual of mankind who ever lived." In fact, the word has at least seven different meanings in the scripture, depending on the context in which it's used. It can mean Gentiles (as opposed to Jews); the world of believers; the world of unbelievers; the physical creation; etc.
-
Every so-called Christian in the world will cite John 3:16 as proof that God loves everyone. They don't have a clue what the verse means, and, under the guidance of the lying false prophets who make up the "Christian" landscape, twist it to mean what they want it to mean. We call that "wresting the scripture unto your own destruction." 2 Peter 3:16.
It seems that if you're going to base an entire lying theology on one part of a verse, you would at least know what the verse means.

My hat is off to you believers. In spite of all evidence to the contrary you still believe in the tooth fairy.
I daresay most of you dislike Jews yet you worship a dead Jew. All part of the wonderful mystery, I suppose.

Knowing the Bible by heart doesn't make a Christian.. there are men who head the church who abuse their power and abuse little children.. but God isn't at fault for that.. that's men in our own sinful nature.. but what makes a Christian is dying to ourselves and our sinful urges and desires, taking up our cross everyday and TRYING to lead a life like Jesus lead.. I'm human and I will mess up, but I'm happy, cuz there is now no condemnation.. Christ is my savior, not a preacher or a priest :)

"You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies." John 8:44
find Truth and you will find true Love

He didn't give His Son for you to continue in sin. "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." (Romans 8:13.) Don't take one passage of God's word out of context and think to discard the healing doctrine of true salvation. "Search the Scriptures". God is not mocked for whatsoever a man soweth; that shall he also reap. Sow to yourselves in righteousness and reap in mercy.

How exactly is posting 1 verse word for word with no commentary "taking it out of context", and your comment with 1 verse isn't?
Am I missing something? Were you talking to someone else?
Please explain...

The whole salvation story makes no sense. You can look at it from every angle possible. Take the prophecies as an exempl.. Why would the salvation be announced 800 years before ? It`s like a circus coming to town and telling you we will be here in 800 years, be ready for the show. Does that make sense ?

What if I told you the cure for cancer was coming in 10 years? What if I told you Mss Transportation was coming in 6000 years? Do those make sense?
Jesus wasn't a circus, He was God's way of salvation for human race He loved, a human race that rejected Him. Jesus is the cure and Jesus is the only way, past or present.
