On June 12th 1998, after 1 1/2yrs of martial arts training, Yves Edwards enters an MMA event in Houston. Yves meets Bas Rutten and tells him he's a big fan, but when his opponent doesn't show, Yves accepts a fight against a guy 20lbs over his weight and Bas respecting Yves guts, offers to work his corner on the spot. After he wins Bas/Marco offer Yves a ride home in their limo. Great clip!

@jissquared at that time in texas it was pankration rules which mean no closed fist to the head, u could kick and knee but no closed fist punches

This looks like Yves was trying to prove a point here. There were so many opportunities to hit this guy clean in the head. His corner was pratically begging for it, but yves just kept working away with leg kicks. He may have just been playing it safe because this guy is so much bigger, but I think he wanted to make him quit.
