@doostnyc actually, the issue is simply the efficiency. Bioluminescence isn't free energy, and isn't necessarily as efficient as it seems. The reasons it exists are mating displays (fireflies) or to attract prey. And it's very dim, except en masse. However, good idea, if you could make it more efficient, there might be something produced from it, at least a more efficient flat screen TV.

It would be hard to utilize something like this, in order for something to be bioluminecent it has to be alive, which means a suitible habitat.
Many micro-organisms also produce lots of hydrogen, this would be easy and pollutant free-fuel but its not quite that simple.
