http://DatingSecretsForDivorcedWomen.com/blog/internet-dating-scams Suzy Weiss with Dating Secrets For Divorced Women dot Com explains that Internet Dating Scams are everywhere.
So are online dating sites the best place to meet decent men?
Not according to the Vancouver police who have issued a warning about a man who allegedly steals a woman's heart and then steals her car or more.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Thomas James Newman who reportedly used a dating website to meet a woman on Jan. 9, 2011 and then made off with her vehicle.
The police said that Newman who is 36, has a criminal record and might be linked to at least five other similar date steal and run cases. He is a suspected Internet Dating Scammer.
It is reported that the man responsible for the thefts uses his charm and good looks to lure his victims.
He goes out on dates with these women he meets online and then these women discover that certain items are missing after the dates are over.
Prior to this latest alleged car theft Newman is wanted on a warrant for theft of over $5,000 dollars. This and an example of Internet Dating Scams. http://twitter.com/#!/SuzyWeiss
He has not been convicted of any of the offenses at this time.
As of today the police have not found him but are still looking for him.
Police are warning people using online dating sites to be careful about whom they're meeting and to meet in public places until they get to know the other person.
Last month a new Internet Dating Safety Act came into effect in New York State, which among other things requires dating sites to post safety tips for users on their pages.
New Jersey, which passed a similar law a few years ago, requires sites charging membership fees to clarify whether or not they conduct background checks when people sign up.
When using online dating sites for safety purposes it is recommended that you do not use your real name and do not use your home phone number because anyone can find out your address with a reverse phone lookup.

Protect yourself r from Internet Dating Scams by doing these things: Also you should use a separate email for your online communication.
Never give out any personal information until you know the guy you have met is trustworthy.
So when you think about it nobody is who they say they are online.
No wonder so many people lie about their age weight and martial status.
What is wrong with just a few more lies right? Be safe don't succumb to Internet Dating Scams.
When you weigh the risks that online dating has to all the other safe and successful ways to meet decent men why would any intelligent woman want to use online dating?
And listen to this data from a survey of more than 3,000 Americans with romantic partners. They concluded that among heterosexual couples who met in 2009 the internet had become the third most common way of making initial contact.
And that placed it behind introductions from friends.
But closer to encounters in bars and restaurants.
Let me repeat that.
According to this study internet dating is the third most successful way to meet a romantic partner. http://twitter.com/#!/SuzyWeiss
The number one way to meet the love of your life is through friends and family.
And the number two way is bars restaurants.
Women don't let yourself become a victim of Internet Dating Scams.

Look--it's simple....love yourself and have integrity. If you want to have sex, have sex; if you don't, then don't, but don't stand in judgment of others.

@waitingforagoodguy I am a Good Christian woman too!! But i'm very picky not so much with looks even though i have to be attracted to them physically but with personlity. I don't have sex outside of a relationship, even if i'm single for years i wont do a one nighter, not my thing. I'm just wary cause i heard around 78% of men cheat OR think of cheating past the two year mark.

@groovy56 You're lying.. where is your evidence? Oh that right you don't have one... No girl ''EXPECTS'' sex.. Guyts do.. but not girls.. esp not Christian girls... LIAR! LOL!

Most men on dating sites are good guys and even if it is the 3rd best way to meet men, then that makes it still a good way, so just meet at safe places, and also follow the other safety rules etc. and you'll be good!

@waitingforagoodguy You are right! Since the feminist movement, I found that 10 out of 10 women who are not committed Christians expect sex by the 3rd date, and 9 out of 10 committed Christian women do not say "no" by the 3rd date. This makes it very difficult to respect women when I'm the one who has to always say; No" so come on ladies?"

men don't want relationships anymore. By the time men hit their forties, most of them already have kids, alimony and or child support. They have no spending money for dating and they are worn out from working to pay child support to keep themselves out of jail. They aren't looking for a commitment any more. Our society has turned into a shallow and non-intimate race if fleshly lust.

I am a single, christian/hippie woman. I am attractive, educated, clean, independent, I am fun to be around and I enjoy a wide variety of culture, nature and music. I still wonder why I am single, I know I am a good catch. I think it is because there are so many promiscuous women out there that the men just go for the fast sex and don't want to practice courtship because all they want is sex. There is so much more to life....sex is good, but come on guys?

In today information age there is no reason why someone should be gullable and/or a victim of these type of circumstances. If the person is not willing to share his/her real name, where they work at than it is not worth continuing the conversation. Once you posses that, it would be smart to conduct a background check at any of these investigative websites. I rather spend 30 or 50 dollars to belong to a site to do full background check than to be a victim. Because anyone can be whoever online.
