@Katyblogger ...Ewww. How nasty. Dame Shirley and Whitney are apples and oranges. But, Whitney's version of our National Anthem, "All The Man I Need (Live for our troops) and "Saving All My Love..." are still heart-stirring and vocally AMAZING! Bassey is clearly one of a kind and a legend. But, we weren't hardly "stuck" with Whitney. Weird Al...certainly.

I just love Dame Shirley Bassey so with my 14 year old daughter!!! Her voice is a gift and at 70, she still has IT - unlike some American singers/artists who gets famous and then disappears out of sight because of their bad habits (drug use, alcohol addictions...etc..etc.)... Thank you for your music Dame Shirley!!!

The British singers and actors have something special in them in which I can't describe! I prefer them to US singers and artists. ;)

@PeaceFan1 This isn't your style of music so move on. Shirley's instrument is other worldly and she handles it with precision and theatrical flair. If you think about Goldfinger, and you imagine a monotone, 'indie' voice singing it - It wouldn't work. Bassey is old school. You're not - Move on.
