I really need someone with a bit of experience in minecraft to tell me IF/HOW it is possible to fill this moat I made with water. As you see I made sure I built it near a water source but i'm new to the game and in my inexperience I was hoping the water would just flow in and fill the moat as soon as I broke the barrier down, but it just trickled.
There is no sound as I can't yet figure out why fraps won't record my sound from windows or my audio device.

  • If surrounding it with water doesn't work, you can fill in the entire moat with sand or whatever material and fill it with water. After that, you have to remove it all, which is a pain in the ass unless you use MCEdit or similar editors.

  • Place water source blocks around the outer edge, on the top layer.

  • Get a bucket and fill the top layer of the moat in with source blocks of water. You can use invedit to speed it up.
