Upgrading a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 from 1.6 to Android 2.1 (Eclair) on a Rogers X10a

A live upgrade of a Rogers X10a from Android 1.6 (Donut) to Android 2.1 (Eclair) using the global generic firmware.

Both firmwares work on ANY X10, a or i. The v2.1 firmwares include both radios so they can be flashed on ANY X10.

If you want to backup your SMS/MMS, do NOT use the built-in application. Download the FREE "SMS Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu in the Market. It saves into XML format onto the SD card. Once you update to 2.1, install "SMS Backup & Restore" again and restore your SMS/MMS.

You can flash any firmware onto any phone.

v2.3 is out already.

@jhoespuerkid No. Firmwares are specific to individual models. Find your device on XDA, if it even exists.

I have a problem with my Sony Ericsson Xperia x10. When I tried to turn on my phone it turned on normally but then when I pressed the home key to wake it up, nothing happened and then it restarted itself. it's working like normal now but now i can't access any of my market apps like angry birds or google earth. Please help

Hey! I just did the Flashing to put in the 2.1 Android, but it´s in a Loop... The Sony Logo keeps popping in and fading, in and fading, and so forth... it hasnt started yet... What can I do?
