Title: Kyrie
Scoring: SATB+ div.
Composer: Michael Jenkins

First movement of a 5 movement Mass for a cappella choir (original composition)

*I use Finale Printmusic 2008 and HyperCam 2!

(the sound gets a little raunchy towards the end... just turn it down)

  • Orribile.

  • Que lindo, adorei ver a partitura!

  • This makes me think of Kyrie which is a soundtrack in the Death Note anime.

  • @jevalles Yes I agree, there should be difference between the Kyrie Eleison and the Christe Eleison ......for the use of unexpect modulation I would advise to listen also to Schubert and Bruckner.

  • Michael, please spend some time looking carefully at these choral composers & their examples: Ockeghem (Requiem), Des Pres (Missa Pange Lingua), Machaut (Missa), Dufay (Missa Sine Nomine), Michael Praetorius (Puer Natus in Bethlehem), Sweelinck (Hodie Christus Natus Est). You are only scratching the surface here with this!

  • I enjoyed listening to this but found the harmonic language very "samey", ie lacking in modulation. There need to be more climax-points and some exploration of counterpoint. Keep writing - it all gets there in the end!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful music with us. Good Work!
