Springdale Farm Sheep Shearing Festival

The annual Springdale Farm Sheep Shearing Festival is a special celebration where the sheep have their wool coats shorn to welcome spring! See here a short clip of a sheep shearing demonstration.

The 2011 Sheep Shearing Festival will be held on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Guests will enjoy sheep shearing demonstrations along with wool spinning, weaving and dyeing demos. The petting zoo is full of barnyard animals including babies such as goat kids, lambs and piglets. And why just shear the sheep?! Children will receive free haircuts compliments of Shear Ego International School of Beauty.

Additional highlights include children's games, outdoor cooking demonstrations, fishing in the stocked pond, nature trails, tours of the robotic dairy barn and more.
