@lalow66 I have 3 or 4 technics sets and I have found that I have most of the pieces needed to build the contraptions in the books. The books are excellent. My sons and I have had many hours of fun with them. They are incredibly educational too with many principles of actual mechanical engineering covered. Highly recommended!

I believe my son would love this book. However, I do not think he has enough of the technic lego pieces. What kind of sets would he need to be able to do most of these activities. Perhaps a techology resource set and a motor package? Any ideas. Thanks!

It is hard to answer to this question because different LEGO sets are sold depending on the countries. I usually go to the "Toys R Us" shop nearby and buy the LEGO Technic sets there.
When I want specific parts, I check them out at Peeron. And then I buy them at BrickLink website.
