Yeah, I just got it. Played for about 3 hours, and it was definitely worth it.

It's a sRPG (strategy RPG) with real time action parts. So it is somewhat a strategy game, but definitely not something like RTS.
I've played only the PS3 version, but the PSP one pretty much resembles the original, so I can say it's absolutely worth playing.

Sorry, I just found out about the game, so don't mind the stupid question. But anyway, is it a strategy game??? It seems kind of like it from all that I saw so far.

While I still think that it's slightly ridiculous that Gallia would send students to their deaths, I'll give this game every benefit of the doubt. It's the least I can do for Valkyria 1.
