is silicone adhesive the same thing a kitchen caulk?

What this tutorial doesn't show is how to to deal with a cast iron or other solid-material sink that has been glued with caulk under its lip to the countertop. This is the most serious obstacle one can encounter in a project of this type. Apparently the author simply skirts the issue to make the task look easy.

I have an older 60's/70's home. My porcelain kitchen sink is sink, drain area attached. Any ideas on how to spruce it up or should it be completely replaced?

Good generally, but way too fast - do we need to take amphetamines to follow every step? Next time, please go slower, talk about options and price choices, and what is most challenging in the project. Thanks!!!

Too fast.

Well I think that the video demonstrate that the job itself can be done without having to call a plumber. Furthermore, it also shows that a woman or couple can tackle this job and successfully. Most house improvements are within the reach of the average house owner.
If the problem is worn, dull, scratched or chipped surfaces, it might be possible to apply, or have professionally applied, a re-surfacing material, usually some form of epoxy. However, I don't usually recommend re-coating for kitchen sinks since they get so much use, are constantly being cleaned, and are subject to surface abrasion from cooking utensils and dishware. I'd vote for replacement.

not a bad video but it makes it look too easy
all the steps were ok till the end it said to put everything back including the garbage disposal.. it assumed you knew how to do that though
not bad though to get a general idea... thanks

Check our website for a more detailed version. Do a site search under kitchen sink.. I post a URL here, but for some reason YouTube doesn't seem to allow that.
