i recently bought a ATi Radeon HD5770 1Gb to replace my nvidia 8800GT because i was experiencing slow downs with most new games.
i got it off scan.com which is a really good site to buy parts off if you live in the UK because prices are low and delivery times are very short (for me one day).
All my games now run at 30fps+ (crysis), majority run at 50fps+ with 2xAA or more so i would recommend this card to anyone on a tight budget or who has a small case as the card is 8.5 inches long, slightly shorter than my old 8800GT which was 9 inches but its a duel slot card so takes up more case that way.
The temperatures stay low, 35*C idle, 70*C load so its nice and cool and the fan hardly ever spins up above 40% so its nice and quiet, shame the same cant be said for the CPU fan:(

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 plays at an average of about 50-80fps with the settings seen in the video. the Heaven benchmark gets an average of 26.1fps (659) @ 1680x1050, DX11, and tesselation at normal which is the score i got with my old 8800GT at DX10 without tesselation.
fraps limited fps to 30fps.

  • @Ryd3r22 funny you should say that, I got a new phone and I was going to test its camera (which is meant to be quite good) with a shorter video like this.

I am going to try to make a timelapse of the build, and some benchmarks of course.

I'll be doing that in a few minutes from writing this as it should all come soon :D

  • @invisible0tom can you do a video of it?

  • @Ryd3r22 Its not to different to this one as I just need something while I'm at uni, all that's different is an extra 4gigs of RAM and a Nvidia GTX 460 rather than the slower 5770. I need the good cooling as I'm aiming for speed on a budget so I will be overclocking.

  • @invisible0tom whats your new build?

  • @Ryd3r22 I didn't get one of them but I got a Be quiet! Dark rock for my latest build, and a few more case fans so I may be able to have decent temps for once!

  • @invisible0tom You should get a hyper tx3 heatsink, they are cheap, not loud and will drop your CPU temps a bunch too!

  • My graphics card can't just "watch in HD for silky smooth HDness" like yours...

  • @WhosSpinz hehe I love doing that

  • Cuts Piano tune just before the drop :'(

  • @snapz0023 Parker- Where's my Monkey?
