The Impalas formed in 1958 in Brooklyn, NY and the very next year with Joe "Speedo" Frazier taking the lead vocal, they had their only hit, "Sorry (I Ran All The Way Home)". The tune went all the way to #2 on the pop charts during April of 1959 kept out of the #1 spot by the Fleetwoods' "Come Softly To Me".
