As an animal lover, I find the bit when the pigs start squealing deeply disturbing. And Sg. Howie's death is extremely tragic & hallowing, unlike in the Nic Cage version when you basically WANT him to die!
@DusterPanCake yeah, firstly hes dying in fire. Second hes like a priest but he like loses is faith before he dies. Third, hes dying for ABSOLUTE stupidity. It's all acting anyway.
They--Robin Hardy--are planing a legitimate sequel. The book--very good--is Cowboys for Christ. There are other titles--Riding the Laddie--and--The Wicker Tree--which is probably a "safer" title!
Worth a read if you like this. Not a "true" sequel in that none of the characters from the original movie/book appear. Sir Christopher should make a cameo as the Good Lord according to reports. Hardy wanted him for a lead but it involved a lot of horse riding. Insurance balked.
