Hello, I'm Rebecca Field with a UPI entertainment update on this Friday, November 9, 2007.

Some of the greatest Latin music stars are celebrating big wins from last night's Latin Grammy Awards. The event took place in Las Vegas, Ricky Martin and the Blue Man group kicked everything off. Martin also picked up an award for best male pop vocal album and best long form music video for "MTV Unplugged." Dominican star
Juan Luis Guerra led the way taking five awards including record of the year. Puerto Rican star Calle 13 took two trophys including best urban album for "Residente O Visitante."

Actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly have welcomed twins. People magazine says a healthy baby girl and boy were born from a surrogate carrier in southern California yesterday morning. A carrier is a woman who brings the baby or babies to term...conceived by the couple's egg and sperm. The twin's names are Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. The parents say they feel very blessed.

London police are investigating items from singer Amy Winehouse's home. They raided her house yesterday but gave no information as to why. Four unidentified men were reportedly arrested in the same operation. Winehouse's publicist did confirm that the property was investigated but says the singer was not arrested. Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil have made headlines recently with alleged ties to drug and alcohol use.

Britney Spears is apparently not following the judge's orders. An attorney for her ex husband Kevin Federline appeared in court yesterday, saying the pop star missed 8 out of 14 drug tests requested by the court. He also said she has been unreachable for court related matters many times. This is all part of the ongoing custody battle for their two sons. Right now Spears has limited visitation rights.

Last night's MTVU Woodie Awards recognized the artists that most
influence college students. The Woodie of the Year went to the Gym
Class Heroes. The Breaking Woodie, which recognizes emerging artists went to Boys Like Girls. And Guster grabbed the Good Woodie...honoring a band committed to social causes. Big stars like Kidz in the Hall and Annie Lennox attended the event as well.

That's all for now. For more on those stories and all the day's news go to upi.com.
