Final Test fire of the PDC Built AR-10 Custom long range rifle. Here the rifle, fitted with an OPS-INC .30 cal 12th Model Suppressor is put through its paces with a 15-round string, then 5 individual shots.

Rifle manufactures and custom rifle builders struggle with getting a semi-auto system to function reliably unsuppressed. Here we see that PDC has taken it a step further and offers unsurpassed reliability even suppressed.

The suppressor is also fitted with a custom nomex cover that eliminates mirage from the suppressor and also allows the user to remove the can immediately after firing. If the cover wasn't present, no one in their right mind would touch a suppressor immediately after 20 rounds of .308

The rounds are still supersonic - hence the echoing, this is the projectile breaking the sound barrier and thus, ear protection should be worn.

With a sub-sonic 9mm round fired from an Barretta 92Fs (suppressed), the report of the hammer would be louder than the shot itself, and ear protection would not be required.

  • @gromtkn I spent 6 months in Helmand Afganistan.

When a supersonic round is fired towards you, you hear a harsh "snapping" sound. This is the sound of the bullet breaking the sound barrier as it passes.

After the 'snap', you then get a "thud", which is the actual sound of the enemy weapon firing.

We learned to judge how far away an enemy was by gauging the gap between the 'snap' and the 'thud'.

Apply a silencer and you will not give off this "thud". The bullets will still 'snap' as they pass.

  • Anything, I repeat ANYTHING that goes 1120 fps(+ - depending on elevation) will have a noise report. If you could throw a marble that fast it would make the same sound even though no explosion propelled the marble

  • @M1XXMATT I don't use hearing pro that could be why.....

  • @7zobzombie

wrong ! if you break the speed of sound it goes bang !!!

hense the crack sound . muppet.

either your 44 is not breaking the 1140 fps or your deaf!

  • @M1XXMATT not true my 44 mag with very hot loads that are shooting over 1700 fps will not make that crack.........another cod kid trying to think he knows shit

  • Y do u have a suppressor on it

  • @BulletFoss

the nato 7.62 is slower in velocity than the nato 5,56

    nato 308 -2750 fps

    nato 223- 3002 fps .

any rifle that fires over 1140 fps will make a loud crack from .17hmr all the way up to 308 or .50 ba . it dont matter what can you have on it dry or wet !
