  • I did put in a vid response and comment, but nothing appeared sorry!

Anyhow as regards having a TV for games or DVD's makes no difference, with or without a receiver. I found out through TV Licensing and that wasn't the half of it

  • Although I don't want to come across as still supporting the TV License; just trying to help you out from what I know/have experienced with my phone calls.

  • I have tried again, but it's still the same crap. I even told them I'd remove the receiver but they say as long as you own a TV you still have to pay, because you might adapt it back to receiving again.

Either way you can't win, they're just plain arrogant.

So let's not carry on with this and try and bring as many people as possible together to sign this petition. The sooner we rid the country of these toerags the better lol!

  • This video was linked to one of mine apperently; but for some reason doesn't show on the video or in my inbox.

You don't need a TV license if you are just using a TV for games or DVD's, only if you receive a signal with intent to watch and/or record.

  • Apparently if you have a computer the monitor can be used as a TV too, so there for I still have to pay the license

I like yourself am only interested in using it for games and DVD's, but I still have to pay, the whole TV license thing is just one extortion racket, I'd think you'd agree...

  • Are you aware that you're paying for a TV licence needlessly? Whoever you spoke to at TVL lied to you. If you're just using your telly for games and vids, you're doing nothing illegal. You don't even have to phone them to tell them the situation. Just ignore them, keep using your telly, and bin any letters they send you. TVL rely almost entirely on people not knowing their rights and that TVL have no more legal or regulatory powers than a double-glazing firm or local builder's yard.

  • I take it you don't like the BBC very much lol!

Well I don't disagree with you, you can definitely count me in!

The only decent programme on BBC is Doctor Who but I collect them on disc, so yeah down with the Dinosaur channel lol!

    Ahhhhhhh that's better lol!

  • what petition?maybe worth reiterating thanks, you have my support by the way

  • @Cutchswife Good. That's the way to deal with this vermin.

  • @jessylotti hi, there's a channel called TheTVLicence it's at the bottom of my suggestions and it has links to anti-TV Licence sites, they have about your rights, ask the person who's channel it is, maybe they can suggest which one's best, hope it helps.

  • The BBC make and fund some of the best television in the world and they do it on a tight budget. If ITV is how you want your entertainment to go then I'd recommend suicide as an alternative to paying your TV licence.

  • reply to Cutchswife, this is not relevante to this dicussion, but so to clear to you

unfortunately not all single mum can afford not to work, and playcentre finish at 6pm same as my work....so yes my child come home from school everyday and wait for me to come home soon after her...

  • @jessylotti More to the point, is it okay to leave a child alone all day whilst you go to work?

  • The TV Licence man came to my front door, demanding to see my tv licence. I didn't even answer him, and slammed the front door. He was shouting 'excuse me! excuse me! through the letter box lol

  • Need advice. Had a call from the TV licence inspector this evening, despite my child was told not to open the door to strangers..the man said he was from parcel force he had a letter to delivered! then asked where the parents were, after my kid said that the parent are at work, he asked for my name and surname and my sweet naive child told him, he happily give her the letter for me.

was he allowed to ask my kid for personal information or he should have come back another time? help advice etc.

  • the more people that stop paying the licence the more it will go up , then more people will not pay the licence , the license fee is a disgrace and people should have the right to choose and not be blackmailed into paying for the most basic form of entertainment
