The Prism

A rotating prism and a light beam. Modelled and rendered by the Art of Illusion software. I used the "motion blur"-option to produce the refraction effect.

Yeah the colours we can't see are infrared (before red) and ultraviolet (after purple)

Actually there is a bit more to that... Some long time ago I had a chance to have a look into a spectrometer, ant what was surprising that above the actulal colors there is an equally wide range of violets, that the human eye simply detectets as "violet" (assumimg that the radiation is strong enough). --> It would be possible to arrange a full coloursystem inside the violetrange only 8-/...
