The players in more recent recordings of Grainger's music seem to have never listened to the composer's versions. Grainger played with great energy and abandon, not milking sentimentality from his pieces. This sounded just fine to me, and even faster wouldn't hurt. lol

@hotsickle my score has the tempo marking minim=96 which is quite a fast tempo so this tempo is probably right

Hi, I have a MIDI tansfer made under strict conditions. It sounds the same speed as the actual Duo-Art roll, which I have heard many times at the home of Denis Condon, a world aurhority on reproducing pianos. This is entirely typical of Grainger's playing If you listen to other performances by Grainger, he could play with supreme delicacy, but his performances never lacked self-confidance!.

I'm very happy to have just found this same roll in a collection I bought. I can't wait until my Duo-Art will play again.

A perfect roll and clip , thanks for sharing! , i really envy the beauty of your Pianola :))
that sounds awfully fast don't you think? Maybe you've been using too much fertilizer on your country gardens....

Yes you may be right.
I do have a recording of Percy Grainger playing this piece and it is about the same tempo.
I think mine is just a tad slower than his performance..lol
Thanks again
