Andrey Shilov plays "Etude #1" by H.Villa-Lobos 15.09.2007. I play it without repeats as it is in the Manuscript. In this way the music became more clear, fluent and understandable opposite to the Segovia version that is more like an exersise. The same with the Etude #2 that I also play without repeats and the music performed according to the Manuscript is much much BETTER! Segovia cut out some very interesting fragments from Etudes because of his taste that was conservative and added those repeats. That was apparently the reason why Lobos let it be published almost 25 years after composing it.
