Spock can defend himself better than anyone else. good fighin' moves that I'd do in the same situation. this Spock is mo' emotional because a nerve pinch would've subdued any of 'em.

@sniper6081 , oh yes it does work that way. Paramount owns Star Trek outright, and if they choose they can subsume the original series under current protection. Now it is almost fifty years since the original series, but I have a feeling it won't go public domain for quite some time. Under normal conditions something becomes public domain about 50 years after the death of the copyright holder. With Star Trek, Paramount will protect it as long as it can -- forever if possible.

@chrisman737 It doesn't work that way. There's a cut off period after a certain amount of years goes by when no one can own the rights to deemed intellectual property and it becomes available for the public to use for free. I was only asking how much longer it would be until Star Trek is public domain.
